Rebtel - cool guys doing social business

Today I found something really interesting: When logging onto Facebook a friend of mine had joined a group called EntRebEneurs. The purpose of the group is to bring "young people with entrepenuerial minds" together to be a part of the company Rebtel and steer its development.

Rebtel is a company that offers free or lowprice international phonecalls from your mobile phone. The product itself is good but not extreamly exciting, though the webpage is pretty nice. What is exciting is that they make use of the evergrowing social networking trend, not only spreading the word using it but inviting people to be a part of the development of the company. Apparently Rebtel has hired two college students to do this online social networking as a summer job, so they hang out on Facebook, writes a blog and invites people to irl events.

This is a sign of how the social networks becomes more important to business and my guess is that we will see a lot like this on communities like Facebook.

I like it and I like that the web empowers people! Good luck to Björn and Linus (the college guys) and good luck to Rebtel (to which I have already signed up, since I have a sister abroad) ;-)

Hey Mattias!

Great to hear that you like what we're doing! Also it's nice to hear that other s believe that this is the way to go - I for one do!

From what I hear in the corridors of Rebtel there are a lot of more exciting products coming along than the international calling - so hope to involve you and the rest of our social networks in that :)

We've added a link to your blog from ours http://entrebeneurs.wordpress.com

Take care!
