Cucumis sativus

Curve, originally uploaded by Leonardo Martins.

It's interesting when you realize that you've got a lot in common with famous people. For example, just like old roman emperor Tiberius, I eat cucumber every day.
They're not just nutricius (vitamin C, vitamin K, and potassium, also providing dietary fiber, vitamin A, vitamin B6, thiamin, folate, pantothenic acid, magnesium, phosphorus, copper, manganese), cucumbers are also biblical: "We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely/the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic." Even Charlemagne had cucumbers grown in his gardens in ninth-century France.

It must be good to eat cucumbers every day!
